A Note From the Teacher
Welcome to the Sunshine Class! I am really looking forward to getting to know each of you and your children! I hope you will feel comfortable coming to me throughout the year with any questions or concerns you might have and I would also love to hear the happy things your children share with you about our class.
Throughout the year I will keep a photo journal of all the fun we will be having. You can see this journal at www.sunshine-class.blogspot.com. There will be a link in each section to the photos. You will also be able to order copies of any photos you would like to have for yourself! I will also put important reminders on the site so check back frequently for up to date information.
As your children are getting used to arriving at class each day, I understand that it might not always be easy on you or them. I encourage you to give hugs and say goodbye at the door and allow myself and Teacher Denise to help them adjust and find a fun activity to participate in to start the day.
I’m looking forward to a great year in the Sunshine class and I hope you are too!
-Teacher April
This Week in the Sunshine Class
This week we are taking it easy in the Sunshine class as we all get acquainted a with one another and used to our classroom routines! We’ll be working together to create a class bulletin board with our hand prints as well as a sunshine for each one of us to decorate our room.
I’ve got a great big book called Silly Sally that the kids can enjoying listening to and can even help by turning the big pages!
We’re going to play a little game to help learn each other’s names. We’ll roll a ball to one another as we say our names.
We’ll also start learning some daily classroom songs like Let’s Line Up and the Clean Up Song and we’ll enjoy some other favorites like the A,B,C Song. Our sensory table will be filled with water for refreshing fun! And lastly, we’ll be talking about what kinds of things we’d like to learn about this year in the Sunshine class.
