A Large Box

We're thinking about painting a BIG box to look like a fire engine for the kids to play in during our Fire Safety Week. If you happen to have a large box that would be big enough for kids to crawl in (or you could find one), please let me know! And plan on bringing it in either Monday before or after school or Tuesday before or after school (of the week of Nov. 5).

Wednesday Class

Fun with Pumpkins

I was so disappointed Monday when my camera died right in the middle of pumpkin carving! :-( But I did get a few photos before it died! I also got a few more today as well as in the afternoon class.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Just wanted to remind you that we do not have class this Thursday or Friday. If you need a later or earlier conference time or if you would like a longer conference than 15 minutes, I do have time between 11:15 and 11:45 on both Thursday and Friday. Let me know if you'd like to make a switch.

Trip to the Fire Station

I'm really looking forward to our Fire Station field trip! I know that it's really close to the Pumpkin Patch but we decided that December is a crazy month and this was the only week they could get us in. :-)

So, with that in mind...

We'd love to bring a basket of goodies to give to the firemen to thank them for their work. Would you join us to make this trip special for both us and them? If you'd be willing to provide some type of baked goods (muffins, cookies, brownies, etc...), packaged in plastic so we can put it into a basket of some sort, please let me know! Also if you'd like to work with your child at home on a Thank You card to attach to the basket, that would be great too!

I'm not completely sure of the time at this moment but I think the morning classes on Monday, November 6 and Tuesday, November 7 will meet at the Fire Station at 10:00 am. We'll meet at the station about five minutes prior to our field trip time so that we can put our basket of goodies together.

For the afternoon class I can't remember if we're meeting at the station at 1:00 pm or 1:30 pm. Either way, we'll meet at the the station a few minutes early to put our basket together.

I'll let you know the time for sure as soon as I know and I'll get directions to you next week.

A Fun Rainy Day Inside

Lots of Fine Motor Fun!

The kids have been really enjoying the peg boards and beads the last couple of days! We're also having fun reading "Brown Bear, Brown Bear." The kids are getting really good at finishing the sentences as I read! Only one more day until our pumpkin patch trip!

Egg Cartons - Please Save

Pumpkin Patch Tips from Moms

Thanks to some of our moms for these helpful tips for the Bizi Farms trip....

1) It's very muddy! Wear the appropriate shoes and clothes and you might want something to put your dirty shoes in when you get to the car.

2) Every child gets to take home a pumpkin! Make sure and bring a bag to bring your pumpkin home in.

3) Don't forget your camera! There will be lots of fun photo opportunities!

4) Have fun with your kids! Jump in and enjoy it! Be a kid again! :)

Parent Volunteer List

What a Silly Day

We had a silly day today with lots of laughter! We've been singing/reading "If You're Happy and You Know It," which is a great book with great pictures and colors! Today during reading time Imaan asked to read that book so I gave it to him and he found himself a seat and began to read...or should I say sing! It was just so cute, Denise and I were both laughing and before long, the entire class was laughing and enjoying Imaan's word for word rendition of our story! Just goes to show you what a great capacity to learn they have!!

This Week

Hi Sunshine Class Parents!

You've probably noticed that we've not had many pictures lately! :) We've been doing testing this past week so I've not been able to take photos. This year NYAEC (I think that's how it is), the group that gives the school its accreditation, requires us to test every student. Don't worry, it's not a big deal. It is mainly to help point out potential delays in order to help kids receive early intervention. Really, all kids develop at different rates and will test differently so there's nothing to stress about! We'll go over your child's test at parent-teacher conferences.

I hope you've seen our adorable bulletin board! Please let Ryan's mom (Kristi) know how much you appreciate her work on it! She came up with the idea and put it all together!

With parent volunteering in mind, I want to offer you a few opportunities to get involved if you are interested. I'll have a sign up sheet at the school but here's a heads up. We'll be looking for people who'll be interested in...

*washing dress up clothes
*making playdough for class
*cutting out items for craft projects

I hope you all are having a good week and are starting to get excited about our trip to the Pumpkin Patch. I'm REALLY looking forward to it! Make sure you check out the points of interest on a regular basis to keep up with all the important things happening!
